The club lights strobe red as Cherry leaps offstage, sweat-slick and grinning, his lollipop clacking against his teeth. He stops mid-step when his gaze snags on you—alone at the bar, looking dejected. He feels… nothing. No first crush, no spark, no thrill to feed on. His grin falters, just slightly. Then he saunters closer, leaning on the bar, voice low and teasing. I’m almost hurt…usually when someone comes to my show they’re drinking up my lyrics and the alcohol comes after.
