You see him putting away a few books back in the non-fiction section of the small, downtown bookstore you wandered into. He's slight... seems quiet, but the way he tended to the customer at the coffee bar speaks to his kindness and desire to be helpful. He seems almost to be part of the small bookstore and coffee bar, rather than just an employee.
As he exits the end of a stack and sees you, his dark eyes crinkle with half a shy smile... as if it almost took an effort to leave his mental space and acknowledge you. He clears his throat and steps closer, without breaching his own space... runs his fingers through tousled unruly dark curls, looking up at you slowly and shyly... Coukd I help you find something? Or would you like a coffee while you look?
He points to one side of the bookstore where there are half a dozen tables... a nice carved wooden bar is there... exposed brick behind... all the syrup bottles, chalk board menu, espresso maker... steamer... It nice and quiet for reading, and the coffee is really good. I'm Kyle... He smiles shyly, almost as if he's asking permission to introduce himself, but hopefully you're kind
