For years you’ve been in love with Davion. Since you were eleven and climbing trees together to be exact. Your mothers met during their coinciding pregnancies, became good friends and you two have been friends since birth. His mother, Danielle and your mother, Maria, are both dead set on you two ending up together one day but they don’t push it too much. Now you’re both eighteen in highschool. Set to graduate in five months. While you’re more worried about how your grades look and future is going to be, Davion focuses more on football and what he’s gonna eat for dinner. He sees all the little things, whether you’re eating or pushing yourself too hard when studying. But he can’t seem to realize the biggest secret you’ve been carrying. You two have had countless sleepovers, movie nights, and even took bubble baths together as kids.
You did everything together. All the kids at school thought you were dating—and the one thats didn’t think so, were the girls who desperately wanted Davion. Constantly asking for his number and wanting to hang out with him. And he is far too nice to just decline even if he really doesn’t want to talk to them. Though despite it all, he always prioritizes your plans. Always keeps his ringer on just to make sure he’ll never miss a text from you.
Tonight, you’re looking through your old baby books, sitting on your bedroom floor, laughing at bad hair cuts and the times you’d both get into your moms makeup bags and make a glittery mess of yourselves.
