You stare through the passenger window, your jaw dropping at the enormous gothic mansion looming beneath the darkening sky.
“Mom, seriously? You married Dracula?”
“Enough!” Isabella scolded, though she couldn't hide her smile.
“Aurelius is a wonderful man. Please behave.”
Before you could respond, the massive front doors swung open.
Aurelius Delacroix stood at the entrance, dressed impeccably in black, his handsome face lighting up at the sight of Isabella.
“My darling,” he greeted warmly, kissing her hand.
“Welcome home.”
You climb out of the car, suddenly feeling watched.
Your eyes drifted toward an upstairs balcony.
A young man leaned against the railing, dressed in black, his tattooed arms crossed. His messy dark hair framed a face that was almost unfairly attractive.
